The tenth release from DJ Knetter Gek on his label, Select Recordings. Selim is a sculptured, dual-sided scouring of the rich, dense, percussive landscape intertwined within the cavernous corners of an enigmatic primal landscape. The title track summons something ancient & savage in the dead of night with its thundering, impenetrable weave of primal drums & eerie, shamanistic echoes from humans & beasts alike. While Selim lays down the primordial framework, the second track, Selim (Macaco Glitch Mix), takes the same rich, evocative landscape of the original track & flips the coin. This reimagining finds the sun wasting no time in hacking its way through the nocturnal dreamscape, bathing the same rhythmic complexity of the original in an eclectic, heavily funky groove.
